GROUND’s leadership team has more than 100 years of combined experience! Clients rely on this depth of expertise and “boots on the ground” experience for a wide variety of design, engineering, and construction projects including roadways, bridges, drainage-ways, dams, mine sites, vertical construction, and commercial development.
Andrew Suedkamp, PE, President
With over 25 years of experience, Andrew holds an MS in geotechnical engineering, BS in architectural engineering. In addition to managing GROUND on a day-to-day basis, Andrew’s experience in planning and completing construction and geotechnical projects includes deep borings, coring, in-situ testing and geophysical investigations, data analysis, and a wide variety of field testing/observation.
James (Jim) B. Kowalsky, PE, Senior Vice President
Backed by over 30 years of experience, Jim holds a BSC in geological engineering and is certified in the asphalt materials and mixtures course. In addition to company management, Jim’s expertise includes a wide variety of geotechnical investigations on myriad projects from airports to mine sites. Jim’s experience includes quality control management of transportation, commercial, retail, and design-build projects. Plus, he manages GROUND’s nationally accredited laboratory. His slope stability experience includes failure exploration, remediation, and stabilization design.
Hsien-Hsiang (Sean) Chiang, PhD, PE, Vice President
Sean holds a BS in geophysics, MS in geological engineering, and PhD in geotechnical engineering. His projects range from transportation structures to industrial facilities, corporate centers, and residential developments. Backed with over 25 years’ experience and licensed in multiple states, Sean’s geological investigation, geotechnical analysis, and geostructural design experience includes foundation systems, slope stability, earth embankment, geotechnical structures, and more. In fact, he leads our Retaining Wall Design Division.
Jason Goodman, Vice President
During more than 15 years with the company, Jason has been responsible for overseeing many administrative functions of the business, including finance, procurement, fleet/facilities management, insurance, information technology, human resources, employee benefits, and DOT contract administration. Jason holds a BS from the University of Wyoming.
Troy Anderson, Vice President
Troy started with the company more than 15 years ago and has worked on projects including transportation, commercial, industrial, energy, retail, healthcare, education and residential. Troy managed GROUND’s materials testing and special inspection services during the construction of several large projects, and then transitioned to manage GROUND’s daily construction services at one of our metro area offices. He is currently responsible for overseeing all of GROUND’s construction services departments, including everything from the quality of our services to incorporating technology to improve communication and information sharing with employees, construction and design teams and clients.
